North Warren Water & Wastewater System Improvements

The purpose of the project is to construct major transmission mains for the supply of drinking water to the North Warren County area and the conveyance of wastewater from the North Warren County area.

The project includes construction of approximately 6.5 miles of 20-inch water transmission main from the Barren River to U.S. Hwy 68. A second water pipeline includes approximately 6.1 miles of 12-inch water transmission main along Hwy 31W and Oakland Rd to Hwy 68. Two pumping stations are proposed on the project. One will be located along the proposed 20-inch main near Hwy 31W to convey water through that pipeline. The second station will be located along Hwy 68 near the intersection with Hwy 101 to convey water through existing mains.

The wastewater portion of this project includes the construction of approximately 6.5 miles of 20-inch wastewater force main from a point near the intersection of the former Hays Martin Rd. and U.S. Hwy 68 to Beech Bend Rd., just across the Barren River.

The design of this project has been completed, and construction is expected to begin by early November 2008. The project is scheduled to be completed 12-18 months after construction begins. Funding for this project will be provided by a grant awarded during the 2005 session of the Kentucky General Assembly and Federal appropriation grants awarded in 2004 and 2005. Therefore, the project will have no effect on customer rates.
